The Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) is pleased to provide support to UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO STUDENTS, FACULTY and STUDENT GROUPS (e.g. RSOs, CAS Workshops, etc.).  This includes annual student grants and fellowship competitions and consideration of funding or co-sponsorship proposals for programming related to East Asian studies.

CEAS also welcomes proposals from CEAS-AFFILIATED FACULTY AND MEMBERS for East Asian Studies digitization projects.

Limited support is also available in the form of library travel grants for short research trips to the University of Chicago by SCHOLARS and ADVANCED GRADUATE STUDENTS from OUTSIDE INSTITUTIONS where there are no or few library resources in East Asian languages, and no major East Asian library collections are available nearby.

CEAS, through generous support from the family and friends of William F. Sibley,  also supports PUBLISHERS of Japanese works in translation.
