CEAS Attends 2017 Association for Asian Studies Conference in Toronto

The University of Chicago's Center for East Asian Studies attended the 2017 Association for Asian Studies Conference held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto in Toronto from March 16-19.  With panel sessions covering subjects from "Manchu Court and Material Culture in Qing China" to "Digital Pedagogy for the Analog Past: Technological Tools and Methods for Teaching Premodern Japanese Materials," this 3-day annual conference is the largest Asian Studies conference held in North America with over 3,000 attendees, 350+ panel sesssions, a book exhibition, and much more! 

CEAS staff hosted a lively reception on the evening of Friday, March 17th that welcomed over 100 University of Chicago faculty, students, staff, and friends!  The reception reunited and connected scholars from an array of institutions, along with a number of UChicago affiliates.
