Assistant Professor of History and the College, Johanna Ransmeier was recently selected as a Fellow with the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations' Public Intellectuals Program.  The Program is designed to nurtre a new generation of China specialists who have the interest and potential to play significant roles as public intellectuals.  The goal of the program is to enhance the quality of the American pubic's understanding of China by strenghthening links among U.S. academics, policymakers, and opinion leaders.

Professor Ransmeier's research explores the relationship between family life and the law in modern China, through the lens of crime.
