CEAS Announces 2022 CEAS M.A. Thesis Prize in Japan Studies Awardee

The Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Chicago (CEAS) is pleased to announce Zinan Wang (Master of Arts Program in Digital Studies of Language, Culture, and History) as the winner of the 2022 CEAS M.A. Thesis Prize in Japan Studies for her thesis entitled “Horyuji After Fire.”  

Since graduating, Zinan has started a Ph.D. program at the University of California, Berkeley, and she will continue her research on media technology and the conception of history in East Asia.

This Prize is supported by the CEAS Committee on Japanese Studies to showcase the high quality of master's work at the University of Chicago related to Japan.

CEAS received strong applications from a variety of disciplines which is also a testament to the caliber of master's work being undertaken at the University of Chicago.
