UChicago alum and former CEAS student employee, David Millstein (AB '18), served as one of 178 delegates at the 2022 Yenching Global Symposium that took place April 8-10. This year's symposium entitled, "Globalisation or Guóbalisation: Internationalism in Flux," was held virtually and featured 40 speakers from academia, business and non-profits on a wide range of topics related to this year's theme. David's highlights include one-on-one discussions with fellow delegates, and attending a panel on historical narratives on globalization. Describing his experience, he said, "..it was powerful meeting a global community of rising leaders that share a passion for building stronger bilateral relationships with China in the decades to come!"
Hosted at Peking University every spring, the symposium comprises engaging lectures, panel discussions, and interactive sessions addressing both China’s impact on the world and the influence that the world has on China. Each year, the symposium features prominent Chinese and international speakers across a wide range of fields, including both scholars and leading professionals. These leaders of today share their insights with their potential counterparts: 200 students and young professionals from around the world with a noted passion for China in their work and research.
